The vocal amplification at Bayou Center was once again disappointing during my 2nd visit to the venue. I found it difficult to hear the singer during the Death Cab for Cutie show, despite being in a prime front and center position about 6 rows back. State Champs' performance in the balcony suffered from overpowering bass that drowned out the band, resulting in garbled vocals and muted delicate instruments like horns. It's essential for bands emphasizing vocal and lyrical content to ensure the singer's clarity, a critical aspect that was unfortunately lacking at this event due to poor sound engineering. This unsatisfactory experience left me thoroughly disappointed.
